Parents do not want a spreadsheet. They want to know how their child did, today, in a message they can read on their phone. ScanScore lets you send an individual score slip straight to WhatsApp after scanning, and it is free.
How to send a result
- Scan the sheet in ScanScore and open the result.
- Tap the share option and choose WhatsApp.
- Pick the parent’s chat or number and send.
Scanning works offline; the message itself, of course, needs a connection to be delivered.
What is worth including
- The student’s name or roll number and the exam name.
- Score, and right, wrong and blank counts.
- A line about the weak topic if you use section tagging — see subject-wise analysis.
Be careful with other children’s data
Send each result only to that student’s own family. Do not post a full rank list in a group with many parents unless your school has agreed to it. Marks stay on your phone until you share them — see offline scanning and privacy.
When WhatsApp is not enough
For trends across many tests, export a PDF report — see exporting results. On a paid plan, parents can also open their own child’s marks with a student code; read class and organisation management.
Tutors who report to parents weekly will find the workflow in OMR for private tutors.
